| Posted 2016-02-03 If the Kardashian clan were not the mega celebrities they we all know and loathe, would you have even noticed any of them in The People vs O.J. Simpson? I am 99.44% sure the answer is NO. Here's my thinking: 1 - At the funeral, it is made abundantly clear who Kris Jenner (formerly Kardashian) is, as she calls Khloe & Kourtney by name when telling some children (3 girls & 1 boy) to behave themselves as they misbehave in the back of the church, like most unsupervised rich kids would do. You're shortly reminded that yes, it's THAT Kris, when her nameless blonde friend tells her that he ex has arrived. You do know she was married to him, right? Not to Travolta's Robert Shapiro. No one even cares if Robert Shapiro was married or divorced or played by an allegedly gay airplane pilot. His last name is Shapiro for the love of Pete! No, Kris was married to a man named Robert with the last name of Kardashian. Now, just who is that nameless blonde friend? Why, it's no other than Faye Resnick!! Wait...WHO? I asked my lovely bride for the scoop & was told all about her, like how she's frequently on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she wrote a book about her good friend Nicole Brown Simpson, and was even on a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian's. So, my point? Two of Nicole's friends at her funeral. You have no idea who one is, but it's impossible to not know who the other one is, even though neither of their names are mentioned. 2 - From the day AC & OJ went for their ride in the white Bronco, this story was HUGE! While I was watching the 1st episode, I was amazed at how many people who's names I knew or remembered. Some were obvious, like Shapiro, Johnnie Cochran, Marcia Clark, Judge Ito, and everyone's favorite houseguest Kato Kaelin. Hell, I even knew Darden's name! All this name stuff reminded me of when I 1st heard of the Kim K Superstar sex tape. A colleague of mine called me in 2007 when Vivid 1st released the tape/website. He told me her name, who her dad was, and I had no f'ing idea. I actually pictured Shapiro in my head when he told me her dad was one of OJ's lawyers. I don't think I even thought about promoting it until their reality show became popular because, to be honest, why would I advertise the sex tape website of an unknown celebrity? So, my conclusion on all this is very simple: No Kim K Superstar (NSFW) means none of the above  |
